12. Accessibility

The Accessibility Strengthening Act (Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz - BFSG) applies to covered e-commerce services provided to consumers after 28 June 2025. The live store should be perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust, with accessible product and service information, navigation, identification, security, and payment functions as applicable.

A microenterprise providing services may fall within the statutory service exemption, but the definition and any product-related duties must be assessed against the actual operator's staff and financial data. Nothing on the site excludes or restricts mandatory rights under the BGB and EGBGB distance-contract and consumer-sales rules, the UWG, the PAngV, or another applicable German or EU consumer rule.
